What We Do
New Star Children’s Theatre in Folsom, California
produces both original as well as classic Broadway
musical productions with children ranging in age
from 4 to 17 years old. Every child who auditions is
given a part in the show as we strive to develop
each child’s sense of confidence through training in
singing, dancing and acting. Children of all ages,
experience levels and talent work together in every
production.
What We Believe
Our expectation for each and every member of the
cast is that they achieve their personal best. We
recognize that each performer is at their own level
of talent and experience and each child is special
for their own reasons. That is the philosophy that
we work under in running New Star. This is not a
theatre company for “Stars” but one that makes
EVERY performer a STAR for their performances.

"Godspell"
This immensely successful rock opera needs little introduction, but when it was first produced on Broadway in 1971 it broke new ground in its stage treatment of the historical Jesus Christ. Based on the Gospel according to St Matthew it deals with the last days of Jesus, and includes dramatized versions of several well-known parables. And yet it is something more - a religious experience, a demonstration of joy, and a celebration of the family of man. The cast are conceived as clowns, improvising scenery and costumes, and using many well-known theatrical devices, pantomime vaudeville and varied musical styles to interpret one of humanity's greatest events.
